Samsung could bring a rollable-display phone to market in 2027 under the Galaxy Z Slide name, according to a product list attributed to tipster @TheGalox_. If accurate, the device would expand Samsung’s foldable range beyond hinge-based Galaxy Z Fold models with a flexible display designed to extend from its housing.
The same rumored list suggests Samsung is preparing a broader Galaxy Z lineup for that year, including the following devices:
- Galaxy Z Slide
- TriFold2
- Galaxy Z Fold9
- Galaxy Z Fold9 Pro
- Galaxy Z Fold9 Ultra
- Galaxy Z Flip line, although no specific Flip models were named
A rollable panel would take a different approach from the book-style Galaxy Z Fold design. Rather than opening on a hinge, the display would enlarge by extending out of the phone’s body, potentially keeping the device compact when the additional screen area is not needed.
Samsung has previously shown expandable-display concepts at CES and MWC, including a vertically extending design that grew from 5.1 inches to 6.7 inches. There is no confirmation that the rumored Galaxy Z Slide would use that specific format.
LG had also been developing the LG Rollable before its 2021 exit from the smartphone market ended that project. Samsung has not announced the Galaxy Z Slide, and no specifications, product imagery, launch date, or market availability details have surfaced beyond the reported 2027 timeframe.
