vivo has confirmed that the X500 series will launch in China on September 21. The date was announced at the vivo Creator Festival, while pre-reservations for the new family have already opened in China.
Imaging will be the central focus. vivo is continuing its ZEISS partnership and has been previewing camera and video technology for the range, including improved stabilization, high-frame-rate recording and dedicated video processing.
The standard vivo X500 is confirmed to use a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA-828 main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor, alongside a 64-megapixel Sony LYTIA-610 telephoto camera. vivo has also cited CIPA 5.5 stabilization for the telephoto unit.
For the higher-end models, vivo has outlined more ambitious camera claims. The Pro-tier devices are associated with a new Blueprint/ZEISS sensor developed with Sony and a claimed dynamic range of up to 17 EV. The company has also announced 4K slow-motion video at 240 fps and 4K HDR capture at 120 fps in selected modes, as well as CIPA 7.0 stabilization for the main and telephoto cameras on upper-tier versions.
vivo says the Pro platform will use a MediaTek chipset built on a 2nm process, with dedicated hardware for Log video processing. However, the complete product lineup and final chipset branding remain unconfirmed. Reports have pointed to vivo X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max models, while a recent Geekbench listing for the alleged X500 Pro Max identified the MT6995 platform and scores above 4,100 in single-core and 13,000 in multi-core testing.
The September 21 event should establish the final specifications, model differences and China pricing for the X500 family. International availability has not yet been detailed.
