Honor has introduced the Magic9 as the smaller model alongside the Magic9 Pro Max, bringing a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, an 8,000mAh battery and a rear camera system led by two 200MP sensors. The phone also supports an optional telephoto accessory and includes ARRI video integrations for LUT capture and color looks.
The Magic9 has a 6.37-inch FHD+ OLED screen with 10-bit color and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is not an LTPO panel. Honor claims peak brightness of up to 10,000 nits, while the display borders measure 0.95mm on each side. An in-display fingerprint scanner is included.
The handset measures 151 x 72.28 x 8.49mm and weighs 209g. Its matte-finish design uses a rectangular rear camera island, with color options including mint green, yellow, white and black; the metal frame matches the rear-panel color.
Cameras and core hardware
On the back, the 200MP main camera uses a 1/1.4-inch sensor, an f/1.9 aperture and optical image stabilization. It is joined by a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with an f/2.6 aperture, OIS, 3.5x optical zoom and up to 120x digital zoom, plus a 50MP f/2.0 ultrawide camera. Honor also includes color-temperature and flicker sensors.
The 55MP f/2.0 front camera has a 92-degree field of view, 0.8x and 1x focal-length options, and 4K video at 60fps. Rear video recording reaches 4K at 30fps, 60fps or 120fps, with up to 15x zoom. Honor also lists stereo sound recording, Audio Zoom and Bluetooth-headset recording. Both the main and periscope cameras are rated for CIPA 7.5 stabilization.
