Apple’s next iPhone Air could be about 5.2mm thick, trimming roughly 0.4mm from the 5.6mm first-generation model while retaining a titanium build. The claim comes from leaker yeux1122 in a post on Naver, and it remains unconfirmed by Apple.
- A chassis measuring approximately 5.2mm, compared with 5.6mm for the current iPhone Air.
- A reportedly larger battery using higher-energy-density cells similar to those used in Pro models, despite the thinner body.
- A possible second rear camera: a 48MP ultrawide joining the existing 48MP main camera configuration.
The battery and camera details come from separate reporting and should not be treated as part of the Naver leak. A battery capacity of around 3,500mAh has appeared in earlier rumors, but no exact capacity was included in the latest post. Higher-density cells could increase the amount of energy stored in the same physical space, though final battery life would also depend on component power consumption.
The first iPhone Air has a single rear camera, so an ultrawide lens would be a significant hardware change for the line. Apple is rumored to introduce the iPhone Air 2 in spring 2027 alongside the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e.
Pricing, display size and storage configurations have not surfaced. The current iPhone Air recently moved from €1,099 to €1,299, but it is too early to determine how Apple may position its thinner successor.
