Smart has introduced the #2, a compact all-electric city car developed on its new Electric Compact Architecture (ECA). The model measures 2.74 meters long and starts at €19,999 for the Pure version, which includes driver-assistance systems and Vehicle-to-Load capability.
The rear-mounted electric motor produces 80 hp and 130 Nm of torque, delivering a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 11.6 seconds. A 35.8 kWh LFPS battery is rated for up to 290 km of mixed-cycle WLTP range.
- The Smart #2 has a 305-liter trunk, expandable to 527 liters by folding the right-hand seat, plus a dual-folding tailgate.
- The cabin combines a 10.1-inch central infotainment display with an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster.
- Vehicle-to-Load technology allows the car’s battery to power external electronic devices.
- DC fast charging peaks at 65 kW, with a claimed 10% to 80% charge taking 20 minutes.
- Standard AC charging is rated at 7.4 kW; higher trims add an 11 kW onboard charger, reducing charging time to just over three hours.
Smart will offer four versions, with the range adding charging, comfort and design equipment as prices rise.
- Pure: €19,999, including driver-assistance systems and Vehicle-to-Load.
- Pure+: €20,990, adding 11 kW AC charging and a heated driver’s seat.
- Premium: €24,490, adding a panoramic glass roof, heated seats and a seven-speaker Sennheiser audio system.
