OPPO may have suspended or changed direction on its rumored Find X10 Ultra flagship project, placing a proposed dual-periscope camera system and 10x optical zoom in doubt. The phone had been expected to lead the Find X10 lineup in the first half of 2027, but the claim remains unconfirmed by OPPO.

The report stems from a post by tipster Digital Chat Station about changes to an unnamed large flagship project. When asked in the comments whether the next generation had been abandoned, the tipster reportedly replied that it was “this generation,” prompting speculation that the Find X10 Ultra is the affected device.

This generation.

Earlier leaks portrayed the Find X10 Ultra as an unusually ambitious camera phone. OPPO was also said to be testing a MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro version alongside a previously rumored Snapdragon configuration, with chipset-level image algorithms under consideration for the MediaTek model.

Find X10 Ultra camera specifications referenced in early rumors
  • A 200MP main camera using a large 1/1.12-inch sensor.
  • A 200MP periscope telephoto camera.
  • A second 50MP periscope camera with 10x optical zoom.
  • A 200MP Samsung HP5 ultrawide camera.
  • A 100MP front camera with a square sensor.
  • An approximately 8,000mAh battery and a 6.89-inch 2K display with a 144Hz refresh rate.

Rising memory costs have been floated in technology reporting as one possible factor behind a change to such an expensive flagship project, though there is no confirmation that component pricing is connected to OPPO’s plans.

If the Ultra is ultimately dropped, the Find X10 Pro Max, reportedly equipped with three 200MP cameras, could become the top model in the series. Similar cancellation rumors have also surrounded Xiaomi’s 18 Ultra, with both companies potentially centering their highest-end offerings on Pro Max-branded devices. OPPO has yet to clarify the Find X10 Ultra’s status or its 2027 launch plans.
