Apple is testing a redesigned Health app in the iOS 27.3 developer beta, led by a new Health Age estimate that compares a user’s health indicators with their chronological age. Apple says the updated app will be released free to users by the end of the year.

Health Age requires an Apple Watch and draws on recorded metrics including resting heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep and VO₂ max, which measures the body’s ability to use oxygen during exercise. The feature sits in a new Longevity section focused on longer-term health trends. Users will also be able to add laboratory results, including hemoglobin A1c and LDL cholesterol readings.

The redesign also adds an Insights area combining information on heart health, sleep, fitness and other indicators. A separate For You section will deliver recommendations based on individual habits, such as suggestions for an evening routine after several nights of interrupted sleep.

Apple is also introducing an at-home movement assessment that uses an iPhone camera alongside an Apple Watch to evaluate flexibility, balance, strength and movement patterns. The assessment provides audio and visual guidance. Apple says the analysis is performed on-device and that video is not recorded, stored or shared.

  • The redesigned Health experience has been announced in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Turkish.
  • It requires an iPhone or iPad compatible with Apple Intelligence.
  • Some features are limited to iPhone or to users aged 18 and over.
  • Availability of individual features may vary by region and language.

The Health overhaul follows the perimenopause and menopause features introduced with iOS 27, and arrives after iOS 27.2 was released in late October. Apple has not yet detailed feature-by-feature regional and language availability for the new Health experience.
