Less than a week after the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max reached stores, a small number of online reports have raised concerns about vertical green or pink lines appearing on the displays. The evidence remains limited, and Apple has not acknowledged a broader screen defect affecting the new Pro models.
One video shared on X appears to show an iPhone 18 Pro with a pink line on its screen, while another clip shows a thicker green band along the edge of the display. Such artifacts can be associated with OLED panels or display-circuit faults, although the reported devices’ condition before the issue appeared is unknown.
Not every image circulating with the claims appears reliable. A picture posted on Reddit shows a green line apparently passing behind interface elements, which would not match the usual behavior of a physical display-panel defect. Some users have suggested that image may have been edited.
Separate complaints concern Face ID. Some users say authentication fails in certain apps, while others report freezes and restarts or receive a “Face ID not available” message during setup. Reports have also described inconsistent behavior from the Require Attention feature.
The Face ID cases currently appear isolated and may be software-related, meaning an iOS update could potentially address them. For now, the limited number of credible display reports makes it too early to determine whether the iPhone 18 Pro line faces a recurring hardware issue.
