Leaked images and details have outlined Google’s purported Fitbit Edge, a fitness band expected to offer up to seven days of continuous use, built-in GPS and compatibility with both Android and iOS. The device is reportedly being positioned between the Fitbit Air and Pixel Watch 5, with an official introduction anticipated toward the end of the month.
The Edge is said to use an oval touchscreen rather than the larger display of a full smartwatch. Its interface may be more limited than a Pixel Watch, but the band is expected to show phone notifications and support services including Google Maps and YouTube Music.
- Built-in GPS and an altitude sensor
- Automatic workout recognition
- A physical button on the right edge
- A rear sensor array that appears more advanced than the Fitbit Air’s
- A quick-release system for interchangeable straps
Google is reportedly planning five color options, three of which are designed to match the new Pixel 11 Pro lineup. The images also suggest a more watch-like design than a basic activity tracker, while retaining the slimmer profile associated with a fitness band.
Pricing is rumored to fall between $149 and $199 at launch. Google has not confirmed the Fitbit Edge, its specifications, regional availability or final price, leaving an official announcement as the next key milestone.
