Gionee debuted today a new model part of its Marathon series, the Marathon M5 Mini. Just like the previous models, this unit is a battery phone, one that packs a 4000 mAh battery. Unveiled in Nigeria, the handset gets detailed after the break.

It brings a full metal body, 5 inch HD screen and relies on a quad core MediaTek MT6735 processor of the 64 bit kind. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Amigo UI 3.1, plus it brings an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5 MP front shooter. Inside we find 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. There’s also a Mali T720 GPU on the specs list and FM radio.

This model seems to only get HSPA+ connectivity, so no trace of 4G here, plus it offers WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG. Gionee Marathon M5 Mini measures 9.6 mm in thickness and it will be available in gold as the initial color version. No info on the price yet.
