Today HTC debuted in Taiwan a brand new handset, the HTC Desire 500, that comes with Sense 5 and a design that reminds me of the HTC One S, at least from the front. This midrange phone is destined for a younger public and comes with a price tag of $400.

The handset comes with a plastic case and uses a 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 200 processor featured on the Desire 600 range. There’s NFC on board, a microSD card slot, 4 GB of built in storage and HTC Sense 5 with BlinkFeed and Video Highlights. At the back we’ve got an 8 megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and at the front there’s a 1.6 MP shooter.

The product will debut exclusively through Taiwan Mobile on August 1st and it also packs a 4.3 inch 800 x 480 pixel display and an Adreno 205 GPU. There’s an optional dual SIM version of the phone and you should know that both cameras feature BSI tech. The Desire 500 will arrive in black, white with green accents and white with red accents.
