Meta has introduced Muse Charm, a key-fob-size wearable designed to provide direct access to its Muse AI assistant without taking out a phone or wearing smart glasses. Announced by Mark Zuckerberg at Meta Connect, the device is expected to begin shipping in December 2026.
The small device has a display that shows an animated, customizable AI avatar, giving it the look of a modern Tamagotchi. Users can choose from multiple virtual characters for the on-screen assistant.

Meta says a touch on the fingerprint sensor can start a real-time conversation with Muse without unlocking a phone or opening an app. The company is positioning Charm as dedicated hardware for Muse’s voice features and animated avatars, while the camera could extend the assistant to visual queries.
Muse Charm remains in the final stages of development, with Meta still working on the internal component layout. The company has not announced a price, battery-life estimate or full hardware specification sheet. It has also not confirmed whether the wearable will rely on Wi-Fi connectivity or include its own cellular connection.
The product joins a growing effort to move AI assistants beyond smartphone apps into dedicated personal hardware, following concepts such as Friend and the Humane AI Pin. Meta’s approach centers on a smaller, avatar-led device tied to its own AI ecosystem; its connectivity model and final specifications remain the key open details ahead of the planned December 2026 rollout.
