Purported real-world images of the Xiaomi 18 Pro have surfaced ahead of Xiaomi’s planned September launch, revealing a cleaner integration of the rear cameras into the phone’s secondary display area. The images were shared by tipster Digital Chat Station.
The most visible change from the Xiaomi 17 Pro is the camera treatment: the lenses appear to sit level with the rear display surface instead of rising above it. The result is a flatter, more uniform camera-and-display assembly.
- The Leica camera system is said to include three rear cameras covering focal lengths from 17 mm to 75 mm.
- A periscope camera is expected to deliver 3.2x optical zoom.
- The main camera is tipped to have an f/1.67 aperture.
- A telephoto camera is reported to use an f/2.4 aperture.
Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi 18 Pro series will debut in September and has described it as the range’s biggest upgrade to date. The company has promised gains in performance, photography, battery life and AI features, though it has not yet detailed the final hardware configuration.
The rear secondary display remains an important part of Xiaomi’s flagship strategy. Xiaomi says daily interactions with app cards on the display have exceeded 4 million, while users add more than 3.5 million wallpapers to it each day. Those figures relate to the China market, where the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max introduced the feature last year.
It is still unclear whether Xiaomi will offer secondary-display versions of the Xiaomi 18 Pro beyond China. The new lineup is expected to arrive toward the end of the month, shortly after the presentation of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 platform.
