HONOR says its Magic 9 flagship series will bring ARRI Color Science and a set of advanced video-capture tools to its next generation of phones, expected in 2026. Confirmed features include ARRI LogC3 recording, ARRI Wide Gamut 3 color, the ARRI Look Library and APV Lossless video compression.
ARRI Wide Gamut 3, or AWG3, is the expanded color space used in ARRI’s ALEXA digital-camera ecosystem. Its inclusion is intended to retain more color information during capture. The ARRI Look Library will supply 87 preset creative looks, each available at multiple intensity levels, for more than 260 variations in total.
LogC3 could be the most consequential addition for users who color-grade footage after shooting. ARRI’s logarithmic curve is designed to preserve information in bright highlights and dark shadow areas, creating more latitude for post-production adjustments. HONOR also lists APV Lossless as a compression system intended to maintain very high image quality in a workflow closer to professional video production.

The company has not detailed how these technologies will be implemented across the Magic 9 camera system, including which sensors or shooting modes will support them. It has also indicated that four or five further imaging features are planned, with an emphasis on detail, clarity and realistic color reproduction.
HONOR has previously indicated that Magic 9 will inherit capabilities associated with its HONOR Robot Phone concept. Full camera specifications, launch timing and market availability for the 2026 Magic 9 series have yet to be confirmed.
