Apple will charge $129 to replace an iPhone 18 Pro battery, increasing the out-of-pocket service fee by $10 over the previous generation. The higher repair cost follows a $100 increase in the iPhone 18 Pro’s launch price.

The service charge is substantially higher than the estimated cost of the battery itself. Supply-chain-based estimates have put the 5,088mAh battery used in the iPhone 17 Pro Max at roughly $12. The cost of the new-generation cell has not been disclosed, though it is not expected to differ significantly.

That comparison does not reveal Apple’s profit on a repair. The company’s replacement price also accounts for technician labor, logistics and other operational expenses, none of which Apple publicly itemizes.

Apple has not yet published a complete repair-price schedule for the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Previous iPhone 17 Pro Max service pricing provides a reference point:

iPhone 18 Pro Max
  • Rear-glass replacement: $159
  • Front-camera replacement: $199
  • Display replacement: $379

AppleCare+ covers a battery replacement at no additional charge when capacity falls below 80% under the plan’s terms. The protection plan also includes accidental-damage coverage, while theft-and-loss protection is offered with certain regional plan options.

The remaining unknown is whether Apple will also revise its broader repair pricing for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup as official service schedules become available.
