Hisense has introduced the Vidda Big Eye M2 Pro in China, combining a 4K RGB laser projection system with a built-in stand that rotates through 360 degrees. The design allows the projector to aim at a wall or ceiling without an additional mount, while its gaming mode can reach a 240Hz refresh rate at Full HD resolution.
The projector is priced at CNY 5,499, or roughly $820, with a limited offer reducing the price to CNY 4,949, about $738. Hisense has not confirmed availability or pricing outside China.
The Big Eye M2 Pro uses a 0.47-inch DMD chip and a QuaLas42 laser engine. Hisense rates it at 1,800 CVIA lumens, with 110% BT.2020 color gamut coverage and a claimed 40,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. HDR10+ and HLG are supported.
Its all-glass optical system includes 1.3x optical zoom and a 1.0:1 to 1.3:1 throw ratio. A 100-inch image requires around 2.2 meters of projection distance, while a 150-inch picture needs about 3.3 meters. Auto focus, keystone correction, screen alignment and obstacle avoidance are included, alongside laser dimming when someone passes in front of the lens.
- Up to 240Hz refresh rate at Full HD resolution; 4K output is limited to 60Hz.
- MediaTek MT9679 processor with 3GB of RAM.
- HDMI 2.1, variable refresh rate support and auto low-latency mode.
- A dedicated PlayStation picture profile.
- A dedicated Xbox picture profile.
- A dedicated Nintendo Switch picture profile.
- An on-screen crosshair and a feature designed to enhance detail in dark scenes.
Audio comes from a 20W four-speaker system with two full-range drivers and two tweeters, supporting Dolby Audio and DTS:X. The projector runs Vidda's JUOS software, which includes voice assistant functions and AI tools for program searches and identifying displayed content.
Weighing 3.5kg, the Big Eye M2 Pro will be offered in Moonlight White and Space Silver. Its 240Hz specification is notable for a projector, but measured input latency will be the key remaining figure for judging its gaming performance.
