vivo has started a phased international rollout of the vivo V80, bringing its 7,200mAh battery, 144Hz AMOLED display and ZEISS-branded portrait imaging to markets in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and other regions. Pricing and retail dates will be set market by market.
The phone is built around Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and an Android 17-based OriginOS 7 software build. vivo also promises six years of security updates from the global debut, though the availability and duration of that commitment may vary by region.
- 6.59-inch AMOLED display with 2,750 × 1,260 resolution, up to 144Hz refresh rate and up to 5,000 nits of local peak brightness
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM
- 50MP Sony LYTIA 700V main camera with optical image stabilization
- 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope camera with OIS and 3x optical zoom
- 8MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP autofocus front camera
- 7,200mAh battery with 90W wired charging
- IP68/IP69 ratings, an ultrasonic fingerprint reader and stereo speakers
The periscope camera supports ZEISS portrait modes at 85mm and 100mm equivalent focal lengths. Those extra portrait framings are achieved through processing and cropping; the camera’s optical zoom remains 3x. Both the front and rear cameras can record 4K video at up to 60fps.
vivo has reshaped the rear panel and camera area from a single piece of glass, creating a continuous transition around the camera module. The Starwish Purple finish adds a holographic star pattern that changes appearance as the phone is tilted.
| Specification | vivo V80 | vivo V70 |
|---|---|---|
| Battery capacity | 7,200mAh | 6,500mAh |
| Display refresh rate | Up to 144Hz | Up to 120Hz |
| Processor | Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 | Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 |
Compared with the vivo V70, the V80’s headline hardware gains are the additional 700mAh of battery capacity and the move to a 144Hz panel, while the chipset remains unchanged.
Storage specifications are not uniform across all markets. vivo’s UAE product listing, for example, identifies 8GB/256GB and 8GB/512GB versions with UFS 3.1 storage, so UFS 4.1 cannot be treated as a standard specification for every V80 configuration.
The international color lineup includes the following finishes:
- Starwish Purple
- Wander Green
- Sunrise Anthem
- Vast Gray
