vivo’s upcoming T5 5G will pair a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera with four-axis optical image stabilization, while still fitting a 7,050mAh battery into a 7.99mm body. The phone is due to debut in India this week.
The company confirmed the 50MP OIS main camera in an India-focused teaser. A Flipkart listing, as reported by GSMArena, identifies the sensor as Sony’s IMX882. The rear setup will also include an 8MP ultrawide camera, while the front-facing camera is rated at 32MP.
Beyond the cameras, vivo has disclosed a MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo processor and a 3D curved AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The T5 5G is also listed with IP69 protection, a notably high ingress-protection rating for a device in this segment.
vivo says the T5 5G will receive three major Android OS updates and five years of security patches. The combination of a large battery, slim chassis and stabilized main camera gives the handset a more substantial specification set than its initial design teaser revealed.
Pricing, memory configurations and wider international availability have not yet been announced. For now, the T5 5G is confirmed for the Indian market, with its full launch expected this week.
