Apple has released iOS 27 beta 8 to developers, pushing the next iPhone software update into the final stage of testing ahead of its expected public rollout in September. The build is available through Software Update on eligible iPhones.
The latest beta does not appear to introduce a major new feature set. Instead, Apple is concentrating on stability and performance work, including app launch times, photo uploads, Camera behavior in Low Power Mode, AirDrop transfers, and transitions between Wi-Fi and cellular networks.
Siri AI remains the headline addition for iOS 27. Apple announced at WWDC 2026 that the assistant will gain more natural conversations, personal context, on-screen awareness and deeper access to actions inside apps. The iPhone experience is also set to include a new Dynamic Island-related interface and a dedicated Siri app for conversation history.
Elsewhere, iOS 27 further refines Apple’s Liquid Glass design and adds Photos ratings and keywords, customizable slideshows, Dual Capture in FaceTime, a personalized AirPods equalizer, quicker Apple Pay card switching and AI-generated wallpapers. Apple Intelligence capabilities are also expanding across Safari, Mail, Messages, Phone, Shortcuts, Home and Passwords, using a mix of on-device processing and Private Cloud Compute.
Feature availability will not be identical worldwide. Some Siri AI and Apple Intelligence capabilities are not scheduled to arrive in the European Union at the same time as other regions, leaving the final regional rollout details as iOS 27 approaches release.
