Apple has scheduled its autumn hardware event for September 9, where the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to debut. Preorders are reportedly set to begin on September 12, rather than the September 11 date that would have followed Apple’s usual Friday preorder pattern.
The reported change is tied to the significance of September 11 in the United States. Apple has commonly opened iPhone preorders two days after an announcement, but is said to be avoiding that timing for the 2026 launch cycle.
The event is also expected to introduce the Apple Watch Series 12. Meanwhile, a foldable iPhone referred to in speculation as the iPhone Ultra may arrive commercially at a later date; a possible late-September release has not been confirmed.
