This week ASUS confirmed that they’ll be unveiling the ZenFone 5 at MWC 2018 and now leaks are popping up everywhere. Today we are treated to several renders of the ASUS ZenFone 5, packing an 18:9 screen and a dual back camera, with a vertical orientation.

We’re not very sure which ZenFone 5 this is, after the ZenFone 5 Max got certified and the ZenFone 5 Lite also leaked at some point. We are probably dealing with a lower end model, on account of that port. We seem to be getting a dual front camera (or are those sensors?), plus a dual back camera, a metal body and a fingerprint scanner placed at the back.

There’s an 18:9 screen here, already inaugurated by the M1 ASUS model and the antenna cutouts bring me back to the iPhone 7 and Meizu Pro 6. This is very likely the ASUS X00PD, a model leaked before. It’s said to have a 5.7 inch diagonal, dual SIM card slots, a microSD card slot and a 4000 mAh battery. There’s also a Snapdragon 430 CPU inside, 3 GB of RAM and Android Oreo, according to a GeekBench leak of this ASUS X00PD.

I’m pretty sure that ZenFone 5 will be a massive series, with a ton of models, so this is just the beginning.
