If you’re clumsy enough to drop your handset often, we suggest you buy a rugged phone, like the Casio Commando pictured below. Spotted in Verizon’s roadmap, this device runs Android 2.2, it’s water resistant and it uses an 800 MHz CPU, plus a 3.7 inch touchscreen display.

As far as connectivity is concerned, you get 3G EVDO Rev. A, WiFi and the folks who spend much time outdoors will be happy to know that the Casio Commando also comes with an earth compass and thermometer. The design of this Casio phone is interesting to say the least, but it’s hard to think that smartphone fans would purchase it, since it seems rather thick and uncomfortable.

No info on when this will hit Verizon, but rest assured you all Mountain Dew drinkers that we’ll let you know.
