A mystery source is claiming that Dell is finally launching its long awaited phone this week, at least in China. Rumour has it that China Mobile or China Unicom will be carrying the handset, although each of them is as plausible as the other.

The OS of choice for the Dell phone should be Android and it turns out that the PC maker has also been working with Google lately on an Android-based tablet. Did they feel the threat coming from Apple, after info about its upcoming tablet was leaked online?

It’s also possible for Dell to release a phone with its own proprietary OS on board, as pointed out by some older rumours, surfaced back in April. Regarding hardware, the usual suspects were mentioned: touchscreen, iPhone-like design, no physical keyboard, tons of memory, tons of connectivity options.
