Gionee is the Chinese company behind some of the models we’ve tested as Allview on our site. Gionee has just released a brand new smartphone, one that’s both high powered and featuring an original design.

The newcomer is the Gionee Elife E7 Mini, an octa core CPU handset, with a swiveling camera reminding me of the Oppo N1. This is the Mini version of the 5.5 inch Elife E7, but its specs are certainly impressive for a Mini. We’ve got a 13 megapixel camera with flash on a swivel mechanism at the top and there’s a 4.7 inch 720p display upfront.

Inside we find the 1.7 GHz octa core MediaTek MT6592 processor, as well as 1 GB of RAM, not 3 GB like on the main model. This is a dual SIM model with 16 GB of storage, 3G capability and Android 4.2 as the OS. The price tag of this model is around $310 in India, the only country where the device is known to be available right now.
