Hisense is taking RGB MiniLED beyond ultra-large flagship territory at IFA 2026. Its new UR8S and UR9S television series bring the technology to sizes starting at 55 inches, while the 116-inch UX remains at the top of the range. Depending on the series and market, the 2026 RGB MiniLED lineup spans 55, 65, 75, 85, 100 and 116 inches.
Unlike a conventional MiniLED LCD backlight, Hisense's RGB MiniLED approach uses separate red, green and blue LEDs that can be controlled independently. The company says this enables broader color reproduction, finer color separation and improved energy efficiency. Hisense rates the UR9S for up to 100% coverage of the BT.2020 color space.
The sets use the Hi-View AI Engine RGB processor, which adjusts color, brightness, contrast and motion in real time. Hisense says the processing is designed to preserve definition in fast-moving sports content, while movie playback prioritizes color and contrast. Selected UR9S sizes support refresh rates of up to 180Hz, putting gaming and high-motion viewing among the key targets for the range.
The 2026 RGB MiniLED range, including the UR8S and UR9S, carries TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort certification. Hisense's 116UXS flagship has separate hardware-level Low Blue Light certification and uses Chromagic 2.0, which adds a cyan light source to the red, green and blue arrangement. That four-color Chromagic 2.0 system is distinct from the RGB implementation used across the broader lineup.
Pricing, market-by-market configurations and launch timing for the UR8S and UR9S have not been detailed. Their arrival nonetheless broadens Hisense's RGB MiniLED push into sizes that will compete more directly with premium OLED and conventional MiniLED TVs.
