Hisense has started rolling out Dolby Vision 2 to selected 2026 TVs, bringing the new HDR platform to the company’s UX, UR9 and UR8 series, along with U7 Pro models in Europe. The phased update is reaching compatible Google TV and VIDAA OS sets across Europe, North America and the Asia-Pacific region.
The update is intended to reduce the need for manual picture adjustments. Dolby Vision 2 can use information embedded in compatible content to adapt the image for the content type and ambient room lighting, while also allowing viewers to adjust the strength of the effect.
Higher-end Hisense models receive Dolby Vision 2 Max, which adds Authentic Motion. Hisense positions the feature as a way to produce more natural movement without the excessively smooth look associated with aggressive motion processing.
The rollout follows Hisense’s wider push around RGB MiniLED TVs, whose backlights use separate red, green and blue light sources rather than a conventional white MiniLED backlight. The company says this approach offers more direct control over colour and brightness. Its RGB MiniLED models have also received RGB Premium Colour certification.
Hisense has tied that display technology to the FIFA World Cup 2026 as an official sponsor and supplier of RGB MiniLED TVs used for VAR reviews. At CES 2026, the company also showed RGB MiniLED evo, a further development that adds a cyan light source alongside red, green and blue. The remaining question for Dolby Vision 2 is how quickly the staggered software rollout reaches each eligible model and region.
