The Hisense U980 is a brand new 5.5 inch quad core handset, priced at only $198. The device comes with HSPA+ connectivity and it’s pictured below. China Unicom will be selling this phone, that’s quite slim at 8.6 mm in thickness.

The handset packs a 1.2 GHz quad core processor, Android 4.2 and supports a HD resolution. We’ve also got 1 GB of RAM on board, 8 GB of storage and a rear 8 megapixel camera. There’s a front 2 megapixel shooter, a 2500 mAh battery on board, good enough for 200 hours of standby and two case color choices (ivory and black).

Hisense U980 takes advantage of the world’s largest WCDMA 3G network from China Unicom and 42 Mbps download speeds. This phablet has a design that reminds me of a HTC One and seems to feature a metallic unibody approach.
