This latest piece of info will make happy all the adopters of the QWERTY keyboard-sporting Desire Z handset. HTC Romania’s official Facebook account confirmed that the Desire Z will be getting the Gingerbread update in the coming weeks.

Apparently, the software is in the final stages of planning and testing, but we’re still reminded that a delay is always possible, depending on the network you’re using. However, HTC Romania reassures everyone that the till the end of July every HTC Desire Z user will get the Gingerbread update. We must remind you that back in May HTC promised that Gingerbread will come to the Desire Z by the end of June and they didn’t deliver.

Let’s hope that this time it will happen and chances are that the upgrade will come through, since we got that official confirmation.
