Huawei has introduced the MatePad Pro 12 (2026) in Europe, bringing its 4.7mm-thin 12-inch flagship tablet beyond China. The European model differs in one important respect: it carries a 9,760mAh battery, rather than the 10,400mAh unit used in other regions.
The tablet pairs its slim chassis with a 12-inch OLED panel offering a 3,036 x 1,952-pixel resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness. Huawei lists 1.07 billion colors, P3 color-gamut coverage and 3.55mm bezels, which it says produce a 93% screen-to-body ratio. A PaperMatte Display edition is also available, using a nano-level etching process intended to reduce reflections and glare; Huawei claims 30% better anti-reflection performance than the previous generation.
At 454g, the MatePad Pro 12 uses a reinforced metal unibody built around what Huawei calls its Cloud Falcon Architecture. The company says this design improves bending resistance by 50% over its predecessor, while the rear panel has a light-reactive finish that changes subtly with the viewing angle.
Inside is Huawei’s Kirin T93 chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage. The tablet runs HarmonyOS 4.3 and supports the new M-Pencil Pro, including click-based interactions, as well as the Glide Keyboard case, which includes a dedicated stylus compartment.
Both battery versions support 66W wired charging and up to 40W wired reverse charging. Huawei says the 10,400mAh model can reach a full charge in around 53 minutes and deliver up to 14.7 hours of use, though equivalent endurance and charging figures for the smaller European battery have not been detailed.
The rear camera system includes a 50MP f/1.8 main camera with autofocus, a true-to-color sensor and an LED flash. A 12MP front camera is positioned in the display bezel for video calls. Huawei has not detailed European pricing or market-by-market availability.
