Huawei is reportedly developing a more compact smartphone built around a 6.17-inch display with 1.5K resolution. The device could arrive in 2027 if development remains on schedule, according to tipster Digital Chat Station.
The leak is said to be based on preliminary data connected with the handset’s home screen. There is no indication yet whether the phone will join Huawei’s Nova, Pura or Mate ranges, or launch as part of an entirely new product family.
A conventional 6.17-inch handset would take Huawei in a different direction from its recent experiments with unconventional foldable formats. The Pura X has a wider foldable design with a 6.3-inch internal display in a 16:10 aspect ratio, while the Pura X Max reportedly expands that inner panel to about 7.6 inches.

Key details—including the chipset, battery capacity, camera configuration, pricing and market availability—have not surfaced. Huawei has not confirmed the device, so the reported 2027 launch window and its compact-phone positioning should be treated as unverified for now.
