Huawei is reportedly testing several phones for a possible new sub-brand, with at least one prototype said to use an integrated active-cooling fan. The hardware could help sustain performance during extended gaming sessions by moving heat away from the chipset, although the entire project remains unconfirmed.

Tipster Digital Chat Station says multiple devices are in testing. Huawei Central reports that the line could debut in November and target a performance-to-price balance rather than the entry-level segment.

Earlier reports associated the possible line with the Xingmang name, while Huawei Central has referred to Xingyao, translated as “Star Shine.” There is not enough information to establish that the two names refer to the same brand. Reports have also linked the project to several Huawei technologies, none of which has been officially detailed:

  • A Kirin processor, though reports differ on whether it would come from the Kirin 8 or Kirin 9 series.
  • Native HarmonyOS software.
  • Huawei’s XMAGE imaging technology.

An active fan would set a potential gaming-focused model apart from Huawei's nova and Enjoy families. Integrated fans have appeared in gaming-oriented devices such as the Nubia Neo 5 GT, while HONOR is also expanding its WIN lineup of gaming phones and a tablet with active cooling. No pricing has surfaced, so there is no basis yet to place Huawei's rumored device in the same market tier.

For now, the key open questions are whether Huawei will commercialize the tested hardware, which name it will use, and whether the rumored November timing holds up.
