HONOR captured a 14% share of China’s smartphone market during the week of September 28 to October 4, placing third overall behind Apple and Huawei and first among Android phone makers, according to figures shared by HONOR Global CMO Guan Haitao and reported by CNMO.

BrandWeekly market share in China (Sept. 28–Oct. 4)Overall position
Apple26.3%1
Huawei20.7%2
HONOR14.0%3
vivo13.1%4
OPPO11.9%5
Xiaomi11.0%6

The result marks a 3.5-percentage-point increase from HONOR’s approximately 10.5% share in the previous week. The company last led Android brands in China in week 12 of 2024, 132 weeks earlier.

The measurement period began on the same day HONOR introduced the Magic9 series in China. The lineup includes three models:

  • HONOR Magic9
  • HONOR Magic9 Pro Max
  • HONOR Magic9 Super Edition

HONOR said the Magic9 became the top-selling newly launched Android flagship on its first day of sales. Direct conversions of the Chinese starting prices put the Magic9 Super Edition at about €540, the Magic9 at about €600, and the Magic9 Pro Max at about €780.

The Pro Max is positioned around a dual 200-megapixel camera system and ARRI technology, while the Super Edition takes a more specialized approach with an 11,000mAh battery and active cooling.

The weekly gain follows a weaker quarter for HONOR in China, when its share had slipped to 11.3%, even as the company reported growth in Europe and the Middle East. A single launch-week result does not establish a sustained recovery, particularly with HONOR, vivo, OPPO and Xiaomi separated by narrow margins.

HONOR has scheduled the Magic9 series for a European launch in January 2027, with the Magic9 Pro Max already set for an international release. Pricing and availability beyond that timeline have yet to be confirmed.
