OnePlus has confirmed that its upcoming OnePlus 16 will feature a BOE-made LTPO OLED display capable of reaching a 185Hz refresh rate in supported games. The handset is scheduled to launch in China on October 12.

The 185Hz mode is reserved for optimized titles, where the phone can deliver up to 185 frames per second. Outside those games, the panel tops out at 165Hz.

  • BOE LTPO OLED panel with 1.5K resolution
  • Approximately 1.15mm display bezels
  • Brightness that can fall to around 1 nit for dark environments
  • P4 chip for image processing and fast-scene optimization
  • 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor

An unverified pre-release AnTuTu V12 result also points to an aggressive performance focus. A OnePlus 16 configuration listed with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 reportedly scored 5.38 million points. That is substantially above the roughly 4.58 million points currently associated with Lenovo's Y700 powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, although pre-launch benchmark submissions should not be treated as final retail performance.

The OnePlus 16 is also expected to carry a 200MP main camera. OnePlus has yet to confirm pricing, full specifications, or availability beyond the China launch.
