Huawei has expanded its smartwatch range with the Watch 6 and Watch 6 Pro, unveiled in Munich, alongside a global rollout for the Watch GT 7 and Watch GT 7 Pro. In the UK, the Watch 6 starts at £399.99 and the Watch 6 Pro at £599, with availability scheduled for September 23.
The Watch 6 comes in 42mm and 46mm sizes, while the Watch 6 Pro is offered in 43mm and 46mm versions. The 42mm Watch 6 weighs 38g without its strap. Materials vary by model: the standard Watch 6 uses aluminum or stainless steel, selected Pro versions use titanium, and the 43mm Watch 6 Pro Ceramic Edition has a nano-tech ceramic case.
Both lines use sapphire-protected LTPO OLED displays. Huawei rates the Watch 6 display for up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness, rising to 3,500 nits on the Watch 6 Pro. Selected versions support eSIM, while the watches can also connect to two phones simultaneously across Android and iOS.
Huawei’s X-TAP sensor returns on the Watch 6 series with 12 channels, up from four on the previous generation, and a claimed 100% gain in sensitivity. The sensor system tracks 14 indicators and brings together ECG, PPG and SpO2 readings. Huawei also lists research-oriented features related to hypertension, diabetes and coronary disease risk.
Other health tools include heart-rate, blood-oxygen, sleep, ECG and HRV tracking, plus sleep-breathing analysis, pulse-wave arrhythmia assessment and arterial-stiffness measurements. Health Insights is designed to correlate those readings over time, including recovery trends following exercise.
The 42mm Watch 6 and 43mm Watch 6 Pro are rated for up to three days of typical use or seven days in power-saving mode. The 46mm models are rated for 4.5 days normally and up to 11 days with power saving enabled. Huawei also adds wrist gestures for actions such as silencing calls or alarms, answering calls and triggering a paired phone’s camera.
More than 100 sport modes are included, covering activities such as skiing, cycling and golf. The Watch 6 Pro additionally inherits the Expedition app from the Watch Ultimate series, offering color maps, waypoints and route-back navigation. An AI analysis feature uses workout volume and other key metrics to generate recovery recommendations.
The globally launching Watch GT 7 is available in 41mm and 46mm sizes, while the GT 7 Pro is offered in 46mm. The Pro adds a titanium-alloy case, ceramic rear panel and ECG support. Both GT models include optical heart-rate sensors and skin-temperature sensing.
Huawei rates the 46mm GT 7 models for up to 12 days of typical battery life and as much as 21 days in lighter-use conditions. Continuous GPS use in running mode is rated for up to 51 hours. The company also claims its updated positioning algorithm improves accuracy by more than 50% in its dedicated skiing mode.
Huawei has not detailed pricing or market-by-market availability for the Watch GT 7 range, leaving those details as the global rollout begins.
