LG has introduced ThinQ Claw at IFA 2026, positioning the conversational AI agent as a new control layer for its AI Home ecosystem. Integrated with the ThinQ ON hub, ThinQ Claw is designed to interpret text-based requests alongside conditions in the home and a user’s daily routine, then coordinate relevant appliances and connected services.
Rather than requiring every automation rule to be created manually, LG says the agent can act on a described situation. It can draw on connected information such as calendar data to suggest or initiate actions, including preparing kitchen appliances ahead of guests arriving or adjusting indoor temperature and checking air quality before a user returns home.
The company is also extending its home-management ambitions beyond LG appliances. Its Home Energy Management System uses the Homey platform developed by Athom, which LG acquired in 2024, to link smart meters, solar panels, home batteries, EV chargers and appliances. The system is intended to manage generation, storage and consumption together, including around dynamic energy tariffs where those are available.
For commercial environments, LG is showing ThinQ Pro, a centralized management platform for appliances and HVAC equipment. The company’s Zero Labor Home robotics direction is also present through the LG CLOiD robot, which is being used as the conductor for the AI Orchestra installation.
IFA 2026 also marks an expansion of LG’s Fit & Max appliance design language. Previously used on selected refrigerators, the built-in-looking approach is now being applied to washing machines, dryers and dishwashers, with an emphasis on improving space use without increasing floor footprint. LG says certain dishwashers can complete a wash-and-dry cycle in one hour under the conditions specified by the relevant program.
Energy efficiency is another focus. LG is displaying a washing machine rated with an energy-efficiency index up to 70% below the minimum threshold required for Class A, measured in the Eco 40–60 program under the relevant European regulation. Refrigerators, dryers and dishwashers using Dual Inverter Heat Pump and inverter compressor technologies are also part of the presentation.
LG’s 2026 entertainment lineup rounds out the showcase, including OLED evo AI and Micro RGB evo AI TVs powered by the α11 AI Processor 4K Gen3. The company is also presenting the Wallpaper OLED W6, StanbyME 2 Max and an UltraGear FHD monitor with a 1000Hz refresh rate. LG has not detailed market-by-market availability for the ThinQ Claw ecosystem or the products shown at IFA.
