Just like its rivals, LG is working on a Gingerbread handset to showcase at MWC 2011. LG Pecan is the device of choice, that will accompany a series of new Optimus Series smartphones.

Pecan will be a mid-range phone with a price around $200 and similar features to the Optimus One. What’s strange is that the source of this leak claims that the device will run Android 2.2 Froyo, but it also mentions NFC support, that’s only available in Gingerbread, so we’re probably dealing with an error.

We’ll learn more info next month, in Barcelona and although this is not a dual-core hottie, the handset could prove to be a hit in the future.
