Microsoft has unveiled the Xbox Nano Controller, a smaller official gamepad designed around portability without reducing the standard Xbox control layout. The controller weighs about 100g and measures just over 13cm long, compared with an Xbox Wireless Controller figure of roughly 280g with batteries installed.

  • 18 gameplay controls, matching the control count of the standard Xbox controller
  • Two analog sticks, face buttons, triggers, bumpers and a circular D-pad
  • A programmable central Action button that can be assigned through the Xbox Accessories app, including for screenshots and gameplay recording
  • An integrated rechargeable battery that charges over USB-C rather than using AA batteries

Pre-orders are open in the US, where the Xbox Nano Controller is priced at $49.99. Store availability is scheduled for November 2026 in the US and more than 30 other countries, including the UK, Canada and Japan, as well as selected European and Latin American markets.
