While everyone was watching the debut of the Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat on the web, a brand new Motorola phone was leaked on the interwebs. @evleaks was as usual the master of ceremony and the newcomer is dubbed Moto G.

The handset looks and feels quite a bit like the Moto X, but only in a cheaper version. The device will be available free on contract, probably on Verizon, since they’re so fond of Motorola Droids. Moto G packs a Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5 GHz CPU, an 8 megapixel back camera and a 4.7 inch HD display. The handset will come in either 8 GB or 16 GB versions and it integrates an LG made 1950 mAh battery.

Motorola may make an announcement pretty soon, especially since the Moto G text was spotted on their site this week. Usually around the winter holiday time Motorola releases a bunch of handsets, so expect more models to pop up soon, Moto G included.
