Although we are all excited about the upcoming foldable flip smartphone from Motorola with its massive external screen, there is another equally interesting phone that is preparing for global release. We know it as the Motorola Edge 40 Pro, the flagship device that is now receiving a lot of detailed renders through Evan Blass. Let’s take a closer look at them.

If you feel like you’ve seen this phone before, then you are not mistaken, as it is a rebranding of the Moto X40, which was released in China in December 2022. The images reveal an unchanged design and the fact that the phone will be available in black or blue, with IP68 water resistance certification.

As for its specs, the phone is powered by the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor, with options for 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128, 256, or even 512 GB of storage, with UFS 4.0 for the latter two options. The phone also features stereo speakers, WiFi 6e, NFC, a 165 Hz 6.7-inch OLED display, and a triple camera setup at the back with a 50MP wide lens, OIS + 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 12MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom.

It also boasts a 60MP selfie camera and a 4600 mAh battery that can be charged at 125W wired, 15W wireless, and even has 5W wired reverse charging. While it is sold for 600 euros in China, it seems that the phone will be available in Europe for 849 euros.

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro is certainly an impressive device that boasts top-of-the-line specs and features, and its rebranding from the Moto X40 is sure to attract a lot of attention. With its powerful processor, ample storage options, and impressive camera setup, it is definitely a device to look out for in the highly competitive smartphone market.
