Motorola may be preparing a book-style foldable with a wider, shorter “passport” footprint, according to newly published design sketches. The unannounced device would mark a notable shift from the company’s Razr clamshell lineup and place Motorola among the brands pursuing broader foldable displays.

The sketches published by Android Headlines show a handset with a full-width horizontal camera bar at the top of the rear panel. Three cutouts are visible, but only two can be identified as cameras from the images; the smaller opening could be reserved for a flash or another sensor.

A wide camera strip could also reduce the amount a phone rocks when placed on a desk, while leaving more unobstructed space in the middle of the rear panel. That layout has prompted speculation about room for a magnetic charging ring, although the sketches do not confirm integrated magnets, Qi2 support or wireless charging specifications.

Motorola has already introduced a moto snap wireless charger supporting Qi2.2 charging at 25W and up to 30W on certain Moto phones. That accessory establishes a magnetic charging ecosystem, but it does not establish that this foldable will support it natively.

The reported design also mentions an “easy-open profile,” 3D glass and a “creaseless display.” The latter should be treated cautiously until hardware appears: claims of an invisible crease often depend heavily on viewing angle and lighting conditions.

The wider foldable format is increasingly being explored across the industry, with Huawei, Samsung, Xiaomi, Apple, Honor and OPPO all linked to devices that move away from the tall, narrow proportions of earlier book-style models. Motorola’s model has no confirmed commercial name or release date, though the report says it could arrive in the coming months. Whether its final hardware includes Qi2 magnets is one of the key details still missing.
