Nokia has just announced the Oro luxury phone, a smartphone that combines 18 karat gold with sapphire crystal and Weir Leather. The device is a customized Nokia C7 that incorporates sapphire crystal into its Home button, for extra resilience.

The frame of the handset is covered with 18 karat gold and this precious model keeps the specs of the C7, including the 8MP camera and 3.5 inch AMOLED display. Bundled with the device we find the Nokia J Bluetooth headset, also covered in gold. Expect the product to ship starting Q3 for a price of about 800 EUR.

Nokia Oro runs Symbian Anna and it’s a very interesting alternative to the Vertu models, also under the wing of Nokia.
