Opera has introduced a travel eSIM feature inside Opera for Android, letting users install and manage a mobile-data plan from the browser rather than through a separate eSIM app. Eligible users can claim 3GB of free data valid for three days, with no payment card or email address required.
Once installed, the eSIM supplies connectivity to the entire phone, not only the browser. That means apps such as mapping and messaging services can use the mobile-data connection. Opera says the service works across 47 destinations and can access 5G networks where supported by local operators.
At launch, the free 3GB offer is available to eligible users in the following markets:

- Germany
- France
- Canada
- United Arab Emirates
- Brazil
- Netherlands
- Norway
- Sweden
- Poland
After the introductory allowance is used or expires, users can buy data packages that remain valid for 30 days after activation. The eSIM can be installed before departure, while the data plan can be activated after arriving at the destination. The same eSIM can be reused in multiple countries, although a separate package is required for each destination.

The feature currently requires an eSIM-compatible handset running Android 10 or later and is limited to Opera’s Android browser. Its plans are data-only: they do not include a phone number and are not intended to replace a user’s primary SIM.
