Oppo R9 and R9 Plus debuted this Spring and sold quite well over the first half of the year, now there are rumors about an Oppo R9s coming as a successor for one of the two devices. Interestingly, the device has received the 3C authority certification this week and seems to come with VOOC Flash Charge.

The 3C certification itself confirmed the support for 5V/4A VOOC flash charging, by the way. This tech or better said SuperVOOC flash charging was demoed at MWC 2016, revealing how one can charge a 2500 mAh battery from zero to 100% in just 15 minutes. It’s been 6 months since then, so we imagine that the technology is ready for prime time, on the Oppo R9s for example.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow should be available here, in the guise of Color OS. Oppo R9 came to India under the name Oppo F1 Plus and the TENAA listing showed that the Oppo R9s is going to have a design similar to the R9 and R9 Plus. The R9s is said to have a Snapdragon 625 octa core CPU, a 5.5 inch Full HD screen, possibly with an AMOLED panel.

There’s talk of a 13 megapixel back camera, 16 MP front shooter and a 2800 mAh battery. The fingerprint scanner will be integrated within the physical Home button.
