OPPO plans to accelerate its European smartphone rollout and is targeting simultaneous launches in China and Europe from 2027, where possible. The move would eliminate a release gap that has historically left European buyers waiting after a handset’s Chinese debut.

The company has already narrowed that gap in 2026 and is positioning its Find and Reno lines to reach European stores while interest from their initial announcements is still high. Faster availability could also limit the window in which rival brands can sell competing current-generation devices without a new OPPO alternative.

Europe is a key target for the push because premium phones are becoming more significant across the mobile industry. Omdia estimates that one in three smartphones sold globally during the first half of 2026 was a premium device, defined as one priced at $600 or more. Europe ranked second worldwide for premium-phone share, with such devices accounting for 40% of sales and growing 9% year over year.

Rising RAM and storage costs are also putting greater pressure on entry-level phone margins, as those components represent a substantial part of the manufacturing cost for lower-priced models. Premium devices generally offer higher margins and serve buyers who are less exposed to smaller price fluctuations, placing OPPO in more direct competition with Samsung, Apple and Xiaomi.

OPPO is also negotiating new partnerships with European mobile operators and financial institutions. The objective is to widen carrier distribution and offer more installment and subscription-based purchase options, though the company has not confirmed the partners or the terms of any agreements.
