POCO has introduced the F9 Ultra, a gaming- and multimedia-focused flagship that combines an 8,050mAh battery with 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and a 6.9-inch AMOLED display capable of a 185Hz refresh rate. The handset is positioned in Europe as a rebranded version of the Redmi K100 Pro Max.
The flat 2,608 x 1,200 AMOLED panel supports Dolby Vision, HDR Vivid and HDR10+, with a quoted peak brightness of 4,500 nits. It has narrow bezels, a punch-hole 32MP selfie camera and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader beneath the display. The phone measures 163.5 x 78 x 8.5mm and weighs about 238g, with a glass front and aluminum frame.
Power comes from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with an Adreno 840 GPU and POCO’s D2 graphics-processing chip. The latter is intended to add image enhancements including anti-aliasing during gaming. Cooling is handled by a 6,300mm² vapor chamber rather than an active fan. Configurations include 12GB of RAM with 256GB of storage, or 16GB of RAM with either 512GB or 1TB, using UFS 4.1 storage.
POCO also emphasizes the F9 Ultra’s Bose-branded 2.1 audio system. Alongside stereo speakers, it has a dedicated rear woofer positioned near the camera array, with a subtle ring light around it. The company says the updated design reduces bass distortion by 4% compared with its predecessor. The phone supports Dolby Atmos and 24-bit/192kHz Hi-Res Audio.
The rear camera array consists of a 200MP main camera with an f/1.7 lens, PDAF and OIS; a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and OIS; and a 50MP, 102-degree ultra-wide camera. A multispectral sensor is included for automatic color adjustment. Video capture reaches 8K at 30fps or 4K at 30fps and 60fps with HDR10+ support, while the 32MP front camera supports 4K recording.
Other hardware includes 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, infrared and USB-C. The battery can also provide 27W wired reverse charging or 22.5W wireless reverse charging. The launch report describes IP68 and IP69 water- and dust-resistance ratings, although its detailed specification list names IP68 only. Color options are Dark Cherry and Black.
In Romania, the POCO F9 Ultra is offered through Xiaomi’s official store from September 1 to 21, 2026 at promotional prices of 3,999 RON for the 12GB/256GB model, down from 4,799 RON; 4,099 RON for 16GB/512GB, down from 5,099 RON; and 5,899 RON for 16GB/1TB, down from 6,899 RON. Buyers during that period are also offered a free screen replacement within the first six months, plus trial subscriptions to YouTube Premium, Google AI Pro and Spotify Premium. POCO has not detailed availability or pricing for other markets.
