The rumored POCO X9 Pro Max could push the series into oversized-phone territory with an approximately 7-inch flat display featuring 2K resolution and a claimed 185Hz refresh rate. The device is expected to be based on the Redmi Turbo 6 Max, with the POCO-branded version reportedly planned for international markets later.
Tipster Digital Chat Station has outlined the display claims, which would represent simultaneous increases in screen size, resolution and refresh rate over the current POCO X8 Pro Max. As with any early leak, the specifications remain unconfirmed.
- An approximately 7-inch flat panel with 2K resolution and a reported 185Hz refresh rate.
- Strongly rounded display corners and roughly 1mm bezels on all four sides, enabled by LIPO (Low-Injection Pressure Overmolding) packaging.
- Reported BT.2020 color-gamut support, high brightness and a lower-power display substrate.

| Specification | POCO X8 Pro Max | Rumored POCO X9 Pro Max |
|---|---|---|
| Display size | 6.83 inches | Approximately 7 inches |
| Resolution | 1.5K | 2K |
| Refresh rate | 120Hz | 185Hz |
The larger panel could be paired with MediaTek's rumored Dimensity 9500s chipset and a battery exceeding 10,000mAh. A 185Hz screen could enable smoother animations and higher frame rates in supported games, although software support and sustained performance would determine how much of that ceiling is usable.
Other hardware reportedly under consideration includes the following:

- A metal frame.
- IP68 and IP69 ingress-protection ratings.
- An ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader.
- Two rear cameras.
The Redmi Turbo 6 Max is reportedly being considered for a China launch in late 2026 or January 2027. Its international POCO counterpart would follow afterward, but regional availability, pricing and the final retail specifications have not been confirmed.
