The Redmi Watch 6 Active brings Bluetooth calling, an AMOLED display and claimed battery life of up to 18 days to an entry-level smartwatch package. In testing, its large screen, light 26-gram body and long endurance were the standout strengths, while the lack of integrated GPS remains its most notable omission.

The watch has a 1.85-inch AMOLED panel with a stated peak brightness of 1,200 nits, 322 ppi density, Always-On Display support and a refresh rate above 50Hz. Redmi lists a 390 x 450-pixel resolution in its display description, although a separate specification listing gives 390 x 390 pixels. The housing measures 44.5 x 39.4 x 9.9 mm, carries an IP68 dust- and water-resistance rating, and is offered in black, silver and orange.

  • 470mAh battery, rated for up to 18 days with light use or 12 days with normal use
  • TPU quick-release strap for wrists measuring 135-205 mm
  • Heart-rate sensor and accelerometer
  • Built-in microphone and speaker for Bluetooth calls
  • 2.5D protective glass over the display

Charging uses a USB 2.0 cable terminating in a proprietary magnetic two-pin connector rather than a conventional charging puck. That is a practical limitation for a device intended to last close to two weeks between charges, since the supplied cable will need to be retained.

Fitness tracking and companion app

The Watch 6 Active pairs through the Mi Fitness app on iOS and Android. The app provides deeper workout and health-data views, alarm, weather, reminder and favorite-contact settings, plus a library of watch faces that is reported to include hundreds of mostly free options.

Bluetooth calling is supported, including contact synchronization and answering calls by raising the wrist. The device is compatible with Android 8.0 or later and iOS 14.0 or later.

Its monitoring suite covers continuous heart-rate and SpO2 measurements, abnormal-heart-rate alerts, sleep tracking, stress tracking, breathing exercises and women’s health tracking. After at least seven days of wear, the watch can also generate a vitality score. Sleep reports include average heart rate, blood-oxygen level and breathing rate alongside sleep-stage data.

Redmi says the wearable supports more than 140 sports modes. Outdoor running, walking, hiking, treadmill sessions and jump rope are among the listed activities, while the watch also records everyday activity data such as calories burned, distance and active time. Without onboard GPS, location-dependent workout tracking will rely on the connected phone rather than the watch itself.

The software selection extends beyond fitness tools to calendar, to-do list, music controls, remote camera control, weather, world clock, flashlight, phone finder and timers. The Watch 6 Active therefore targets buyers who want smartwatch basics and long battery life rather than a premium-material case or standalone navigation. International pricing and availability were not established in the reviewed material.
