Fresh after the Google event taking place on February 2nd and meant to announce Honeycomb and the Android Market webstore, RIM thought it was a good idea to announce that BlackBerry App World 2.1 is now live. Also the app store supports in-app payments, just like the revamped Android Market.

The fact that both Google and RIM made the announcement on the same day is once again showing the competition between BlackBerry units and Android handsets, with the latter having a major upper hand lately. Apps supporting this feature will arrive pretty soon. Now let’s see WebOS and MeeGo taking the same route…
