After being spotted in Eldar Murtazin’s detailed preview as the Sony Ericsson Vivaz 2, Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo pops up again, this time in a brand new review. Keep in mind that this is not the Vivaz 2 and the Xperia Neo name will stick, at least till MWC 2011. Now let’s see what Techradar had to say about the phone.

Their hands-on showed lots of similarities with the Vivaz model and a design that includes a rounded back and semi-anodised finish. You’ll find the proximity and light sensor at the top, plus the ear piece and the front facing camera around the same area. The display is a brilliant 4 inch screen and on the side you’ll find a camera shutter key.

As far as the camera is concerned, you’re getting an 8.1MP sensor with a single LED flash that takes pretty good pictures, that look a bit like those taken with the Xperia Arc model. The build quality is pretty standard, for the Neo that uses plastic and chrome-like covering, for a sturdier feeling. HDMI out and hot-swappable microSD card complete the picture of the new Xperia.

This may not be the 8.7mm Xperia Arc, but still it’s a decently thin handset, with an 11-12mm waistline. Learn more about Android 2.3 on this device and its features from the full Techradar review here. Maybe MWC 2011 will see that we get some hands on time with the device.
