Research in Motion Limited, the company responsible with manufacturing the BlackBerry handsets, has recently posted its financial results for Q4 and the past fiscal year, ended February 28, 2009. The revenue for Q4 of fiscal year 2009 was $3.46 billion, 24.5% more than the previous quarter and 84% more than the year before.

The total revenue of the past fiscal year was $11.07 billion, another 84% growth from the $6.01 billion of last year. RIM shipped no less than 7.8 million devices in Q4 only and 26 million during fiscal 2009. The BlackBerry subscribers account base was 25 million at the end of Q4, with a growth of 3.9 million new accounts in the last quarter.

RIM expects $3.3-$3.5 billion revenue for the first fiscal quarter of 2010, ending May 2009 and up to 3.9 million new subscriber accounts.
